Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and the Energy Systems Laboratory (ESL) at Texas A&M University have the privilege of organizing the 10th International Conference for Enhanced Building Operations (ICEBO) scheduled for 26-28 October 2010. The conference brings together annually an international group of researchers, professionals and practitioners who routinely improve the energy efficiency, operating costs, and environmental impacts of buildings. ICEBO is a leading forum for in-depth information exchange among researchers, building operators, and professionals interested in the continuous advancements in energy efficiency applications. ESL inaugurated the annual ICEBO conferences in 2001 as a forum for the exchange of experience and ideas among those dedicated to ensuring that buildings perform optimally throughout their lives. Recent venues of ICEBO include:
ICEBO 2004 in Paris, France
ICEBO 2005 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
ICEBO 2006 in Shenzhen, China
ICEBO 2007 in San Francisco, California, USA
ICEBO 2008 in Berlin, Germany
ICEBO 2009 in Austin, Texas, USA
ICEBO 2010 Theme
The theme of the conference is to bring together decision makers, researchers, operators and practitioners to investigate measures for minimizing the energy consumption, operating costs, and environmental impacts of buildings while improving the health and comfort of occupants to achieve building sustainability.
ICEBO 2010 Objectives
The objectives of ICEBO 2010 are as follows:
To discuss best practices in building operations.
To achieve sustainable buildings, increase energy savings and improve occupant comfort.
To discuss best practices in shaving peak load demand.
To discuss on-site renewable energy applications and their related policies to promote them in the region.
To provide a forum for scientists and experts to exchange views and experiences to enhance building operations in the region.
To bring together decision makers and professionals who are involved in carrying out, managing and funding research to exchange experience and establish cooperative relationships.
